I'm assuming that you are talking about the 3.6L JL. For reference ESS battery=aux battery=supplemental battery; they're all one and the same. Some people have suggested--and I think them purists--that because the 2 batteries are of different types that it's best to charge them separately. Here's what I'd do. Leave everything as-is and park the Jeep after a long drive to insure the batteries are fully charged. Read the voltage of the battery. Then let it sit overnight. Read the voltage again and see how much it dropped. It shouldn't be much, no more than 0.1v. If it's more than that something is definitely draining the battery.
