Been awhile since I have posted on this forum, Well long story short I have had nothing but a nightmare of a time with this 2017 Gmc Denali L5P I have the issues with the dash and radio freezing and Just turning off completely... 2021 GMC 3500 SLE 27k miles. Not sure I should feel happy it was under warranty but originally took the truck into GMC dealer for what sounded like a boost leak. No codes, no other symptoms other than using 7 gallons of DEF in 2800 miles. Which seems excessive for not towing. If it was vertical, you could prefill it so it doesn't take so long for the oil pressure to come up. I picked up my 2020 Denali 2500 hd duramax this week and noticed a loud knocking at idle which increases in volume as the engine warms up. Went back in to the dealer before I even left the lot and saw the service advisor and the diesel tech who both said it was normal. If you are set on different filtration you need to get a take off adapter, lines and a remote filter mount (and kiss the warranty goodbye). Yea, it is generally 1 turn to 1 1/2 turn after the filter makes contact with the housing (depending on the filter). If it is that tight on there, be prepared for a fight to the death with that filter that is on there. You may need a strap wrench, or a metal band oil filter wrench, or even large oil filter pliers.
